The 10th Annual Hot Summer Nite Dance at La Fetra Center was another huge success for EYE-DAS this year. This major fundraiser, sponsored EYE-DAS Visual Aide Boosters (VAB), is a premier gathering that never fails to deliver. It’s always gratifying to see how this event consistently turns out a crowd that fills the room to full capacity.
Jo Cox, VAB president, and her team of volunteers, work hard each year to set the stage for this premier fundraiser. The goal is to raise significant support to help EYE-DAS Foundation increase educational and support services for the blind and visually impaired. This goal is driven by a commitment to help men and women lead more productive lives, with committed help from their friends at EYE-DAS.
EYE-DAS Foundation board member, Kathy Boyer, commented: “It was a festive atmosphere, too. We had beautifully arranged baskets for the silent auction, wonderful gifts for the live auction and a raffle at the end of the event. But without a doubt, our DJ—Doug Dill—did a terrific job with his selections of music and high-energy personality that keeps everyone fully engaged and thoroughly entertained!” The evening’s delicious dinner was catered by Giovanni’s Restaurant. So many helped make this a memorable time, with special thanks extended to Athens Services for corporate support.
